About World Winter Sports (Beijing) Expo

World Winter Sports (Beijing) Expo, co-organized by Beijing Olympic City Development Association (BODA) and International Data Group (IDG), is a professional and authorative international exposition focusing specifically on winter sports. It aims to introduce the knowledge of winter sports to Chinese and promote the project of “engaging 300 million people on the ice and snow” to popularize the winter sports activities in China. The World Winter Sports (Beijing) Expo has been held annually since 2016 in Beijing, China. It is on its way to become the largest world-leading exposition of winter sports. As a professional and national-level exhibition, WWSE wins over support and cooperation from the International Olympics Committee (IOC) and federations of seven winter Olympic sports. It will support the preparation for the 2022 Winter Olympics, promote the comprehensive development of sports in China, and help usher in a promising future of the booming winter sports industry in China.


About Beijing Olympic City Development Association 

The successful Beijing 2008 Olympic & Paralympic Games have left rich legacy for China and Beijing both in material and social forms.To continue this sound momentum and build on the successful experience of the Games, Beijing Municipal Government has turned the three Olympic slogans into “Humanistic Beijing, Hi-Tech Beijing and Green Beijing”, and decided to set up Beijing Olympic City Development Association (hereinafter referred to as the “BODA”).


BODA is a non-profit organizational legal person registered with Beijing Civil Affairs Bureau. BODA exercises a membership system. There are 63 founding organizational and individual members. The organizational members include the relevant organs of Beijing Municipal Government, China Disabled Persons' Federation, universities and research institutes which devote to the development of Olympic movement; Beijing Olympic & Paralympics Partners and Sponsors and local enterprises. The individual members include personages of high prestige in society who made remarkable contribution to the Games and people having great influences in related fields.


The Mission of BODA: To develop the Olympic spirit, expandthe Olympic achievements, promote the sustainabledevelopment of Olympic and Paralympic causes in the city,contribute to the construction of Humanistic Beijing, High-techBeijing and Green Beijing and accelerate the development ofBeijing as a modern developed city and an international sportsculture center.


The Scope of Operation of BODA: To mobilize social forces tocarry forward the Olympic spirit and boost the development ofthe Olympic Movement in the city;

To support the development of public welfare and health work including Olympic culture,education, sport, youth, people with disabilities and volunteer service etc., and contribute to the development as a developed city and an international sports center;

To conduct sports-related exchanges and cooperation with relevant international organization like the World Union of OlympicCities;

To organize the implementation of projects to promote Olympic city development,Olympic research,and put forward recommendations on city development;

To promote sustainable development of the Olympic&Paralympics causes. It will also encourage and support its member organizations to conduct relevant public welfare activities by providing a platform of events.

In 2016, IDG World Expo co-founded the "World Winter Sports (Beijing) Expo" (WWSE) with the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, the Organizing Committee of 2022 Beijing Olympic Winter Games, Beijing Olympic City Development Association and other relevant institutions, which gained wide support from the International Olympic Committee and the Seven International Organizations of Winter Sports. The WWSEs in the past two years have attracted over 200,000 people to visit and participate. In particular, with its crucial resources and cooperative partners in mountain sports technologies and equipment, it has gained the high recognition and wide acclaim from both domestic and overseas winter sports industries. With the initiative of innovation and entrepreneurship and the major strategy of “Internet+”, the Global Mobile Internet Creative Development Competition starting from 2013 has attracted more than 11,000 outstanding mobile Internet developers from home and abroad, over 230 guest speakers, more than 3,200 projects and over 170 on-site road shows. It has established the cooperation with the United States, Finland, Norway, Israel, Japan and South Korea, etc., and hosted several events such as CES TOP 10 Brand activities and IFA Innovation Awards activities with the international organizations. These all have greatly enriched the communication, facilitated the marketing activities and accumulated various experience both at home and abroad.
